The original wrap was cracked at the connectors ends, exposing the insulated cables (which are otherwise in great shape). I used X-treme tape to secure and fasten the connectors (the X-treme tape is amazing and serves the purpose very well). The cables have always been in excellent working order and there was never any issue with sound quality. You could remove the X-treme tape and do your own professional bonding.
